Wörnitztal Ries Trail

One of the TOP hiking trails in the Danube-Ries - The hike starts on the outskirts of Oettingen and leads along the Wörnitz Bridge along the river to the Furfallmühle. After a turnoff, we hike through the hamlet of Haid and over the baumarme Riesebene to Megesheim. Along the edge of the village, the path goes uphill into the forest, where a small clearing awaits with a view of the meteorite crater Ries. After a detour to the geotope "Burschel at Hainsfarth leads the way past a chapel back to Oettingen.
